Services to disable on WinXP

I would like to know, for security reasons, what are the services I can dissable without compromising useability.

thanks in advanced.

Definately indexing.

I am not sitting at an XP machine right now. Otherwise I'd look at mine and see what I've disabled. You can actually stop most of them and still have a reliable computer.

I also dont care for remote registry or remote assistance. Or messenging service.
I'll never need help from somebody who isnt standing next to me. And they just leave security holes.

That Microsoft securing-XP guide I linked to in the last post in this thread will talk about services and other stuff, might visit that and see if it helps 🙂

Boot into Safe Mode and take a look at the running services...

...now THAT'S the BARE minimum.

Mmm, now there's a thought. How much of the time could I get by with Safe Mode 🙂
