I always avoid Best Buy in favor of Circuit City or a non-chain store, but sometimes your options are limited. I simply cannot stand being hassled for the service plan by numerous people. For once, the sales guy was actually quite informative, and only asked about the plan once. I told him I didn't need it, as my credit card provided protection against theft and accidental damage. He said ok, and walked me to the front. Cashier would hear none of it. Not only did she go ahead and ring up the service plan, but she acted insulted when I told her to remove it. I told her I already had protection from a credit card, and thanks but no thanks. Very polite and very casual. Her response? What kind of card does that? If you don't want it ok, but don't go making stuff up.

I should have just left the crap there and walked out. I've re-affirmed my hatred for Best Buy.

I used to work in retail and I hated being pushed to sell them. I'd talk about it, and if someone wanted it then great, but I always hated when management put pressure on the customers.
