Service Pack 2 not compatible with video driver?

I just built a computer with a socket 754 MSI K8M Neo-v motherboard with onboard video. When I try to d/l SP2 the computer will only boot in safe mode unless I uninstall SP2. I spent many hours on the phone with microsoft and they said that it is an issue with the unichrome video driver. I downloaded all the updated drivers from the VIA website but that did not resolve the issue. I called MSI and they said there should be nothing wrong with the video driver. Can anyone help me with please. Thanks

My suggestion is - go into BIOS and disable all that fru-fru video stuff and have yourself a good, barebones system. Then install SP2 - and it should go OK. When it is all running good, then enable those recalcitrant video drivers and see what happens.
