Service Pack 2 and AVI video ( xvid ) not working.

Cannot play a AVI file that has been encoded with Xvid despite GSPOT saying the file is ok and that the video codec is available. I even hit the render button and it says it's ok.

It opens you hear the music but it crashes media player.


I did install Service Pack 2 Final and wonder if that has some conflict ?

Xvid works fine for me on sp2. Try getting another video player, like BSPlayer.

Figured it out, FFDSHOW was decoding instead of the newer codec.
