server with xbox...

alright here is the deal...

I'm the webmaster at my house of 40 guys and I'm in control of the internet. We have a line coming into the house and then running to a server with the Clarkconnect v3.1 software and then going out to the different rooms in the house.

The problem is when i play online games with the xbox, the terrible lag. I've been trying to put priority and bandwidth to the xbox first but it still hasn't been working well.

Does any one fimilar with clarkconnect and have any suggestions about how I can give my xbox "enough" internet or give it priority without really messing up everyone else internet. They still should be able to browse the web while i'm playing.

Thanks for the help

Daniel

what kind of line? If you have 40 guys on a 1.5 dsl, I don't think anything you do will make the lag go away...

well with xbox live all you need is speed like 512kb down + 256kb up

Does "Clarkconnect" have a QoS module that will allow you to prioritize bandwidth for you xbox? if not you may want to switch to or add an "IPCOP" box that can perform this function. What kind of broadband connection do you have? good luck

why run virtualpc and then moonwall ontop of that? that just smells of a hack
