I'm a css and a 1.6 gamer and when I go to connect to a server I get redirected to some other server. Like I'll connect to an assault server, then get redirected to this office server, and its always the same office server. I don't know if they changed something in my computer so that I always connect to them or what happened. Anyone else have this problem and or know how to fix it?

Thanks

Delete your config.cfg file in C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\NAME\counter-strike source\cstrike\cfg. Some admin probably messed with one of them. You will have to reset your settings after you do this, though.

This happens on 1.6 so would it be under a different file? Thanks for the ultra fast reply

Found the file...deleted it and reset all my settings. But it keeps going back to that server. Could there be another file that is causing this. Man this is lame, their server is so lame that they have to do this crap to get people to join, thats just bs

I saw a similar thread about this on steampowered.com a couple weeks ago. The posts were light on what is actually done to cause this but it was said that the [-Q-] clan was responsible for the hijackings. I believe the problem is self correcting, but I couldn't tell you a time frame. Perhaps searching for that clan on steampowered.com might help, or not? Sorry, I don't have any definitives for you or solutions. Perhaps this will help you find a solution.

I found that post about the [-Q-] clan but it didn't contain any information in regards to fixing the problem. Some one had mentioned that it is a form of adware or malware and that you can get rid of it by reformatting. If possible I'd like to avoid having to do that. (mainly because Dell didn't give me a copy of windows XP when I bought this machine) Anyone have any idea how to fix this, or link me to a post/website with that information. thanks
