server motherboards

lol are you trying to ask us what we think of it? Server boards are bad for any gaming, most of them don't have a PCIE 16x. plus some of them require ECC ram, which is damn expensive. I was lucky because I could disable ECC on my old board. Oh and alot of games don't have support for dual core, smp systems arn't even on the horizon yet.

I've never actually BUILT a server. The reason is that I can usually find a complete Dell Server, with processor(s) and memory for about the same price as a good Server motherboard. About 1.5 years ago, I purchased a couple of Dell 1600SC servers, complete with HEAVY case, power supply, SCSI drive, cabling, RAM, etc....for about $500 each.

I've got a Tyan board in my server - dual S370 with 2 1.1Ghz tualitans, ECC RAM, SCSI, PCI-X, dual Intel ethernet on board, serverworks chipset. Awesome thing.

That thing looks cheap compared to the stuff I work with.

Yea? Like what?

Yeah something like this thing that they won't tell me what it does. :Q

LOL

I work with prototype HP Itanium servers. I don't think I can say more than that. 😉
