Looking for a motherboard with either 12 single width or 6 double width PCI-E slots. Essentially, I'm trying to copy a Tyan/Supermicro six GPU Tesla server but without spending $7K just for the barebones server before I even populate it with GPUs.

I'm wanting to put them into a 4U rackmount chassis. I know if what I want even exists outside of custom/proprietary design that it won't be in an ATX form factor which is ok.

Been doing some looking the last few days and haven't come up with anything. Any ideas?

Well, even if you find a board (which I suspect is possible), finding a case is going to be your real problem. The board you need is really just any server/workstation board with 6 PCI-e 3.0 16x (8x electrical) ports and then use PCI-e riser cables like the one linked:

Yeah, I am beginning to think there is a reason those Tyan/Supermicro Tesla servers are so damn expensive. Because they are all custom built with no generally available parts to build you own if you wanted to.
