Hi,
I have a well-built generic mid-tower chassis for my server PC. However, it does not have room for more fans and hard drives. Those are the only two dilemmas I have with the chassis. I need to have enough locations to accommodate 5+ hard drives (IDE and SCSI). Four fan locations with two in the back and two in the front.
I had searched and read the posts regarding cases in here but am still undecided. Actually, I was hoping to find a chassis much like the Intel Columbus III chassis. We use this case at work here for our products and it works very well. It has a hard drive cage that is located towards the back on the chassis right ahead of the two 62mm fans. Strong fans I tell you. Anyway, I much like this style of chassis more than the Antec 830/1030, although they are good chassis. The Columbus III is well built, really heavy and costly. That?s the problem. Please list your recommendation.
Here?s my PC configuration:
Intel ORG840
Windows 2000 SP1
2 x Intel PIII-800Mhz 133Mhz
2 x Micron RDRAM 128MB 800Mhz
Plextor 12/4/32 SCSI External
Yamaha 16/10/40 SCSI Internal
ATI Radeon 64MB DDR VIVO
SBLive! Platinum
2 x IBM 7200rpm 60gig
1 x Maxtor 5400rpm 40gig
Compaq 2x DVD J (I have 1 DVD movie ? Record of Lodoss War)
Not currently install:
Intel dual channel RAID LVD160
AMI dual channel RAID LVD160
Adaptec four channel RAID LVD160
2 x IBM LVD160 18gig
1 x IBM Erikson 60gig (new IDE family-it?s QUIET!)
If you have time, please write down what you would build as a dual processor server. Thanks.
