I've been holding off for a while, but i'm finally to the point where I want to make the dedicated server thing happen for LAN-Central.com. Adul, DeathByAnts, myself, and one or two other people are looking to grab a server from SB pretty soon, and I know that I would like to find some people intersted in some cheap hosting from us to help us offset the costs. The server we're looking at would cost us about $200/month after all is said and done, so to say the least, a few 'customers' would help smooth it all out.
Aside from any of you fine folks who wanna chip in, the server would only be used for our lan party site, Adul's image hosting (unconfirmed, but probable since he is always running low on disk space) and a few other odds and ends.
So in the end.. the question... would it be reasonable to ask people to pay $25/month for:
2.5 gigs of storage
30 gigs of monthly transfer
10-15 mysql/postgresql databases
php, perl, etc (other addons would be quite easy since its a dedicated box)
and a couple hundred email accounts?
Personally, a plan such as the one right above is one I would expect to pay a fortune for, but it could easily work with a small (10?) group of people.
