I used windows 8 on my home server and it would randomly spin the storage drives up a few times a day (windows update is at least partially to blame for this), I had nothing installed which would do this so I put it down to windows.
Would windows server behave differently in this area or is it basically the same thing as desktop windows but in a different default configuration and would likely do the same?
Im sticking with linux mint on it at this point so its more of a curiosity really. How much does server windows actually differ from its desktop counterpart?
