Virtual disk is 400GB, C partition is 80GB, D partition is 320GB. If the virtual disk is resized to 500GB, is it possible to extend the C partition into the new space?

Edit: Server is 2003, not 2008 R2. Running in Hyper V.

With the D partition there, I don't think you can do it in the Windows OS.

However, you should be able to boot off of a linux livecd to run gparted and do it without removing D. But I'd do it on a test machine first, and definitely backup your data.

Now that I know the server is 2003, I know a 3rd party tool is needed.

MS recommended EaseUS Partition Master in one technet blog.

I see here that they support this on 2003, but again not sure if it will work with that D partition there. I guess I'll email them.

Link is obfuscated... guess they've spammed the forum in the past.

Sorry, just updated the OP. The server is a guest on Hyper V, with a single virtual disk.
