I am experimenting with an acedemic version of Server 2003 enterprise from the MSAlliance. I was wondering what kind of software I need to use in terms of sound card drivers and video card drivers. If if helps

Asus A7V266-C
1 GB PC2100
1800+ XP
AIW 9800 Pro
Audigy Platinum

Do I need XP drivers or NT drivers or what?

Xp drivers will do. Adjust the slider for best performance (accelaration) in directx diagnostics. start->All Programs-->Accessories-->System Tools-->System Information-->DirectX diagnostic tools

or check the audio settings in control panel.

what do you need audio drivers for on your server?

as far as video drivers just use the drivers that come with windows, if windows doesnt come with drivers look on the manufacturer's website for 2003 drivers, if not 2003 than use the xp drivers (as they should be essentically the same)

More to the point, why does he need an r9800 on his server? edit: an all-in-wonder, at that!

I have to familiarize myself with Server 2003 for a class of mine, but I don't want to quit gaming. Should I not run Server 2003 if I want to game too? I thought XP and Server were almost the same?

than dual boot and when you want to familiarize yourself with 2k3 server as a server boot into it. If you want to game or use a regular desktop boot into xp.
