serv-u as a service+virtual directories+networked drives

i have serv-u running as a service and want virtual directories (to networked drives) to work... i know i'm suppose to have the service log on as a user that has access to the networked drives... and I do that, but i still cannot see the directories. I turn off the service and run serv-u as a program, and it works fine. Any ideas?

Did you map the virtual folders in Serv-U to the mapped network drives? Did you give access to the mapped virtual folders to the user(s)?

yes, everything is mapped. it works properly if servu is not running as a service. but once i run it as a service, it drops the networked drives.

Yeah I do.

What user account are you using ServU as a service with? It should be the same account that has access to your mapped network drives.

yep. same exact user.

the only way you can share all your hardrive at my many at you can by doing this,first creat short cut all the hard dive letter in your pc or even network than place to the you folder that you want to upload or download.

actually.. are your networked drives logged in as the admin, or a user w/ admin privledges?

Not admin. I login with the user account that Serv-U uses and which my networked drives have access to.

i really think something is wrong w/ my system. or there's something i've missed... i've tried other ftp servers that act in the same way... and it doesn't work either :-/

just a bump to see if anyone else has any input. trying this on my other machine seems to fail as well.
