Howdy all,

So I know that this PDF states any phone newer than 10/2011 or anything that supports 4G, etc requires the extra $10/mo for data. Does anyone know what the best phone is that doesn't qualify for the extra price?

My wife has the Optimus S currently and I"m just wondering if there's anything that would be an "upgrade" to her phone but still qualify for the plan she currently on.

It's hard to find release date into to know when some of the older phones came out but figured maybe someone here would know.

Thanks.

I always thought the Touch pro2 was the last phone you could use on SERO? And no it wouldn't be an upgrade, it was awful.

The palm pre didn't have 4g but I think it's too new to qualify for SERO.

Why don't you upgrade to SERO premium or whatever it's called? $10 more and you can use any new phone I think.

its $10 more to use 3g android or wp7 phones, and $10 even more if you want 4g phones. so, my $30 plan turns into a $50 plan if i want to use new phones and to me its hard to swallow.

We're already on Sero Premium ($40) which allows for any Android phone that's not 4G or that came out after that date. I just don't want a phone that makes me have to upgrade another $10 to the $50 plan. I know things like the original Evo came out before then and others but just don't know what.

Google search shows the HTC Arrive (WP7) phone as working on the $40 plan. That could be a possibility as its non-4G and shows as being released in March 2011, which is before the deadline of 10/4/2011.

Seems to be the best phone, IMO, that works on that plan.

I believe the LG Marquee (Optimus Black) was released a couple days before the cutoff.

As someone mentioned you can grab the LG Marquee or switch to Virgin mobile which uses Sprint's network. Virgin mobile you can buy an Optimus Elite and still get the 25/month plan which is 300 min+unlimited text +data.
