Seriously, what's the deal. Vista and routing problems.

We have lots of laptops here and whether it's a lenovo, a toshiba, an LG, whatever .. if it's running Vista it will sometimes get this weird problem....

has IP

just won't route or talk to the network.

If I put the computer to sleep and wake it up .. VIOLA! It usually works.
Sometimes it requires a straight up reboot.

SP1 and pre SP1 machines, all the same, doens't matter.
WTF!!!!!!

I get an IP!!!!
I have a an IP in the correct subnet, the right gateway .. it's all there!

This isn't the DHCP issue that I am having a hard time searching around on google .. and I'm not getting DHCP info from a router, I'm getting it from a 2k3 server on an enterprise network.

edit:
okay I actually bothered to read the link you sent 🙂
I will take a serious look at this tomrrow .. right now I"ve been at work over 12 hours :/
Sorry for the trigger finger, I do appreciate the input, thank you!

Came back to my hotel to tell you to re-read the link, looks like you already have. IMHO this has been the root cause of many similar Visa issues. If its it its usually a device/firmware upgrade (crosses fingers its that easy for you...)
