Specs

Intel Core i7 I7-720QM / 1.6 GHz
6 GB DDR3 SDRAM - 1333 MHz
500 GB - Serial ATA-150 - 7200 rpm HDD
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 1 GB GDDR5 SDRAM
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Edition

I bought this laptop about 3 months ago, and havent really started gaming on it until recently. I've tried running CoD MW2 on recommended settings, lowest settings, max settings, etc etc, to no avail. It would play it fine a few days ago, and now when I try to play, its near impossible. I'm dropping frames like crazy as soon as the game starts, load times are slow as hell, and eventually I just end up stuck in a corner trying to esc and quit but even that is difficult because of the video lag. thank god for ctrl alt delete

then when I come out of the game after fighting for 5 minutes just to turn steam and CoD off,all 8 cores show about 25-30% usuage and my computer lags like crazy until I restart.

I'm at a loss here, any help would be greatly appreciated. If I need to provide more info, let me know.

i resolved my problem myself. with that said I want to say this

forums like these generally encourage behaviors that get new users to do more than post a couple of times and never come back. Had more than that one person (who had 1 post and was as new as me) seen fit to even attempt to help me, I wouldn't turn into one of those leechers that stumble in from a google search, get my help, and never come back. I contribute on forums like these daily, and either no one had any idea as to what to do that could help me (the solution was stupidly simple) or these forums encourage elitism among their senior members and care not about encouraging new members to stick around.

Either way, if your goal was to ignore a new member and insure that I never log into your forums and contribute anything ever again, then congratulations, I wont be back :)
