seriously noob too multiple HDD's!

well heres the deal....i have no idea what RAiD is about and if i might need it.

i currently have a 250gb HD and wanna put in another one....so my question is do they both have too be the same/configured with raid or can i just hook up a 500gb with 32mb cache(mine is 8) and i am good to go as long as the board shows it??

If all you want is extra storage space, you don't need RAID. Just plug in the new drive and it'll show up as a new drive letter (instead of C🙂 in windows.
