From what I hear, very addictive.

I'd take the bare minimum (as in, only if you really need it, not just every 4 hours), and stop as soon as possible.

I plan to stop as soon as the rx runs out...but as soon as these little buggers wear off, my jaw is throbbing again.

I am pretty sure it is highly addictive...

If you have severe enough pain to warrant taking them, then by all means take them...that is what they are for. If you have only one bottle, then you shouldn't worry about it too much. Yes, they can be addictive, but when used properly under medical supervision, you shouldn't have any problems, especially with just one bottle of them...

Hydrocodone is a far cry from morphine. Hydrocodone (vicodin) < oxycodone (percodan) < morphine.

really it just depends on you. Do you feel you have an addictive personality? Have you had any other problems in the past with other substances like alcohol or pot? Have any family members? To develope a physical dependecy would take many months, by psychologically its often on the person.

You won't get addicted to them unless you start taking them to feel good as opposed to taking them to get rid of the pain. You can, however, develop a tolerance towards them where you would need a higher dose. That doesn't mean you're addicted. For something like pulled teeth, I would think the pain would go away after a short amount of time and you'll be fine.

I didn't have a problem with them. I had my wisdom teeth taken out almost three years ago and had vicodin prescribed. I took one for pain and took the rest just for the hell of it. I think they were 500mg a piece and I had thirty of them. Finished them off over a month and a half time frame. However, stuff like that affects everyone differently, so YMMV.

If you are taking Vicodin because you like the way it makes you "feel", not because you are in pain, then you are seriously at risk of addiction. If your pain has significantly decreased, but your use of Vicodin remains the same, then you are seriously at risk of addiction.

Almost every person I've encountered who became addicted to prescription pain-killers, including myself, and persons described in case studies, recognized very early - even before the first prescription ran out - that they were at least as attracted to the feeling of euphoria and well-being they received from the drug than relief from any physical pain and were no longer taking the drug because they were in pain.

The rest depends on how honest you are willing to be with yourself and your doctor about it.

I dont get any sense of euphoria, or any other feeling for that matter. It jakes makes the pain less intense. Thats a good thing right?

they are only 500mg, I have been taking one every four hours since noon, so I have taken 3.

I dont think I am addicted now, but I just wanted to know what to look for, and what to avoid, so I didnt.
