Serious trouble with bios

Indus

Last night I had 4 crashes on my system and I thought it might be the bios to blame. I have nforce 3 chipset which has problems with IDE. I used MSI live update to update the bios from v. 1.1 to 2.1 using the winupdate bios.

I got an error and then another crash.

As you can guess, system hang, no boot, just hard beep.

I am using my backup comp to post this but I read in manuals, change the jumper to bios reset and try flashing the bios but no luck.

Any ideas on how I should procede?

My motherboard is a K8N Neo Platinum MS-7030 VER:1

Any way to fix this situation or need a new motherboard?

Ok I'm trying all that, I did that but I have another problem. The motherboard itself turns off the power supply after 10 seconds of my turning it on. When I input a boot disk into floppy drive to input the bios, it doesn't even let me get to that.

Any ideas how to fix this?

When I had that experience, it was due to automatic emergency shutdown due to cpu overtemperature because the cpu heatsink & fan weren't on properly.

If you totally clear CMOS and can eventually just get into bios, reset everything to default values. I sympathize with your exasperation over that, but you WILL get 'er solved.

I hope other posters stop in here to give you more advice, that's all I've got!
