Serious Trouble --- Help Me Mr. Wizarrrrd!!

This morning I installed my new SMC router. Everything went okay but when I went to reboot problems started to happen.

First I couldn't find my 2 cd drives, a plextor cd-rw and a samsung cd rom.

Then I couldn't rum windows! It hangs on the splash screen and then only runs in safe mode.

I've run scandisk but it didn't find any problems.

Any ideas on what I should do? Thanks!

I don't think I get this... you installed a router on your network and now your computer crashes?
I don't really think this is related...

I'm running the SMC [Barricade] broadband router (though I won't have broadband access for a few months yet😉) I have no trouble with the router acting just as a 10/100 hub. I do have the print server function enabled with the software installed on all the PC's on my network. Installation was problem free. Did the problem start after you installed the software? Did you try running your PC with the hub disconnected? (A little more info please and I will try to help🙂)

The problem was probably not related to the router, most likely just bad timing.

Anyway my system was way kaput, but eventually one cd was awake and I just reloaded windows. 15 minutes later and everything is operating again.

Still no idea what happened. I'll take better notes next time. And I'm sure there will be a next time🙁
