Now this looks a serious sam game worth buying.

The other 2 looked good, but not my cup of tea.

Is he just fighting one big enemy at a time now? Where's the big maps of onslaughts of two hundred Kleers or the two dozen headless screaming guys with the bombs? :)

According to the interview with Croteam, the big battles will still be there. They said with 16 player co-op, they will be throwing everything they have at the players.

As for BFE, I was thinking Big Fucking Edition, but it's probably Bum Fuck Egypt.

Ummm guys, BFE stands for "Before First Encounter". SS 3 is a prequel to Serious Sam 1, which was called "Serious Sam: The First Encounter".

I have a sneaking suspicion that the reason they made it a prequel is so that they can place the action in the middle east to make you shoot terrorists and insurgents modern warfare style for the first half of the game.

If I have to fire at even one poorly voice acted taliban or if I hear "second floor, second floor!" just one time I swear I'm throwing my rig out the window.

Kinda like how BFG didn't stand for Big Fucking Gun, right? Deep down, you know very well they came up with "BFE" before they came up with it a parentally acceptable meaning.

Have you played the first two games? It's already been set in a fantastical alternate Egypt for a decade.

Also, we are once again at a point where there aren't many modern coop FPS games, and practically no arcade-style, run-and-shoot ones, so while we have been waiting a long time (I don't count the HD versions :)), there's plenty of room for the game to thrive, and no reason they can't make it damn fun.

If First Encounter, was the FIRST ENCOUNTER, than how can you have battles BEFORE the first. That makes no sense.

I VERY MUCH look forward to this game. 16 player co-op? I may actually play this one online!!! (sorry TF2!)

That's why I'm worried. I love the idea of a new serious sam/painkiller type fps, but the fact that there are released pictures of the upcoming game featuring a middle eastern (or north african, whatever) city with mosques and shit, combined with the fact that it's a prequel , makes me suspicious that they'll try to shove some "smack right in the middle of a war on terror" type of subplot where you have to do resque-the-hostage and find the boss-terrorist-missions that all start with a helicopter rail shooter sequence, before the plot finally acknowledges that all those in-human roars that you keep hearing, the perforated buildings and horribly mutilated bodies with green blood splattered on them, at which point your superiors finally start to suspect that the north koreans I mean muslim brotherhood might not be behind all that shit.

I realize I may be exaggerating a bit, but it turns out they'll but this kind of crap in the game, I just want you to remember that I called it.

I hope it’s like the first two encounters rather than the sequel. They really dropped the ball with the sequel.

The HD series proved they can work the old gameplay into the new engine. In fact, I’m playing through the second encounter (HD) right now and it’s great. There are moments where I feel like I’m playing it for the first time.

Croteam makes some seriously fun games with very good looking graphics. Right now I'm playing Serious Sam II and I'm having a blast!

I really hope they used the same voice actor, it'd be hard to find a better voice than John's.

Last I heard, it sounded like he needed the work, so the chances of this are probably quite good -- and yeah, I couldn't imagine anyone else doing the character, either.
