Okay, so i just got a Radeon 9700 pro, to put in a MSI K7N2 Delta-L mobo with an AMD Barton 3000+ 400FSB along with 512 Crucial PC3200 memory... so heres the problem:

The first time i put in this AGP card, I had no signal output (yes i put the card in till it locked, and yes i plugged in the extra power cable). So disheartened i took it out, and re-seated the card thinking i pulled a stupid. Huzzah it worked! blah blah blah, i got to install everything okay. But then after i started running some games the card went ape! I was playing COD and polygons were flying ALL OVER THE PLACE! It was like the card had a little bit of crack before it went to work.

Anyway, now i have pink hazy lines all across my screen when im on the desktop, and the games are all messed up. It looks like its just having a TON of internal memory errors. Thats all i can think of.

Now the weird part is that it only SOMETIMES happens, independent on temperature. One time I booted up from a long period of no use, and it had the pink deal (even messed up the bios text on bootup), and i decided to play COD in crack mode because i had nothing better to do, and eventually all the texture ripping calmed down and when i reloaded the game, it worked perfectly.

I have completely default settings and newest drivers for everything... i cant figure out what is going on PLEASE help!

One important note, the seating seems to be INCREDIBLY sensitive. moving the card an ammount not visible to the human eye will result in the card producing no output on boot. Very strange.

Can you try downclocking the core and memory speeds slightly and see if the problem persists?
Just seems as if your AGP slot is borked though.

so yeah, ive tried 'downclocking' as it were, and it still gives me those fancy pink fun lines. Cheers! oh well, I guess I had better RMA the card, althogh I cant find the website that I ordered it from (anyone know what the Target PC website is? i cant find my packing order...)
