I got a friend that I've known for about 12 years, we pretty much grew up together. He's always been reliable and hardworking (one of his pet peeves was flakes). But lately he's become a drunk stoned flake. I haven't been able to get a hold of him recently because he's always been out getting drunk. He hasn't held a job for more than a couple of months lately because he either gets bored or impatient.

Any suggestions on how to help him out?

Tell him that he is becoming his worst enemy and explain what it means.

Then tell him to get his life together.

Be a friend and try to find out what he's trying to hide or run away from. It might be that there is something going on with him that he just can't handle...

tell him to get his act together or you'll beat his ass everytime he gets drunk.

i did that to my friend who became addicted to crack/cocaine about 15 years ago.
today, he's a partner of a succesful company that we own and is joining me on an internet store venture.

btw, he doesn't drink either anymore, at all either.

abracadabra: one problem: he's a 6'7" redneck and I'm a geek. Even drunk he could waste me.
