Serious question: Is Outlook Web App the worst piece of software ever?

I don't even know how this got out of QA. The UI is horrid, there's no spell check, the UI just fails from time to time, there's no list of users for easy messaging, and on top of that it uses smileys to let you know folders are empty.

This is like the crap software that used to come with printers in the 90s. Anyone else have to use this nonsense?

D:😱😡

i don't mind it. it's nice as a back up app or for a quick check in when i'm not at work and dont want to use phone.

I hate how if you paste in a URL it creates this weird preview in your e-mail. But in general I thought it's quite decent!

If you think OWA is bad, try using it on a Chromebook...it knocks another 50 IQ points off the web app 😀

Maybe we're using completely different versions of OWA? Ours was updated about a month ago to the newer interface, but I have seen no smilies, have a people tab with contacts for easy messaging, my exchange calendar with popup reminders, and my task list. The interface is about 5000x better than the older version, and much more responsive.

No, Adobe Flash is the worst piece of web software ever. Outlook does suck though, in general. I never did get the calendar share function to work.

No. The vSphere Web Client is the worst piece of software ever.

OMG this. But Outlook web is not that pretty either.

I'm surprised there is no viable alternative to exchange/outlook though. It is the best at what it does, but really, it's not all that great in general. It could be done better. I always found it was hackish that you need to basically create a fake user account just to add rooms/items to rent. All that stuff should be in a nice administrative console where you can configure all sorts of settings like availability and such.

Try using Domino/Notes for awhile and Exchange/Outlook will feel like the most amazing software you've ever dealt with in your life.

Seconded. And VMWare is pushing the hell out of it, except for some of the apps. 5.5 even says that all apps are available in the web GUI, except for some of them. :/

I like the Ex2013 OWA.

i would not hate it so bad if it didnt move everything from where it was in the installed client. its the windows 8 of vsphere clients.

CUPS is probably worse. i havent had to deal with it in a long time, but a friend at red hat says they dont print in linux because CUPS is such a gigantic pain to deal with.

is this owa from office 365, or...from a particular version of exchange?
i dont care for it circa exchange 2010, thats all i have had to use much. i have barely touched the free version of outlook or owa 2013.

id like to add that the fortiguard/fortianalyzer/fortimanager web interface is incredibly worse than OWA

its so bad that i blocked it from my memory when i posted earlier. i did not remember how bad it was until i had to use it today to monitor web traffic and whitelist some URLs.

an autistic monkey strung out on methamphetamine and PCP could have put together something better than this.

the vsphere flash admin console is 100x better and more functional than this almost entirely non-functional piece of fortinet garbage.

woe be unto anyone who has to use this, or buys a service that uses this, or has to support or interact with support of this entirely wasteful piece of complete and utter trash.
