When you were younger (or currently) when did you see yourself as married?

Personally, I have always pictured myself as getting married right out of college. I think it may be due (partially) to the fact that my parents got married at a young age. My dad was only 21 and my mom was 19 when they tied the knot.

i can't see myself married at all. are you kidding me? i can't even see myself with a gf... no, i don't have low self esteem... i just have so much crap to do these days, i can't imagine squeezing a relationship in there. my life is oriented around me... me me me 🙂D)... i couldn't imagine having to share it with another person.

but in all likelihood i will probably get married... hopefully around age 30 or 35.

Not a guy, but can I answer?

I always pictured myself as permanently single. Throughout most of high school I wasn't interested in dating, didn't have crushes on anybody, was just fine being me by myself. Couple of changes since then, but I largely never saw myself getting married.

I always imagined getting married after I'm 25 BUT before 30. I don't want to be 50+ when my eldest child is 20. Married life is weird.... after seeing many people getting married.. their life changes dramatically I don't know if I'll be ready for it. 😱

Exact opposite of me. I can not picture myself without a girlfriend. I do have tons of stuff to do. I work full time and attend school full time, but I need a girlfriend to complete me. I have found the girl I will be with for the rest of my life, but I have yet to show that with engagement.

I never really had an age in mind, but I hope the girl I'm dating is the one. 🙂 It's not really up to me though. 😱

I'm 23.

Same here, right out of college.

I would like 23 or 24.

Looks like it isn't going to happen though, don't got much time left. 😱

Korean parents expect you to marry fast... if not they start doing the searching for you.

lol i guess this is why korean kids are so nice to their parents eh 😀

yes. i did picture myself as the typical family man. house, wife, 2.3 kids, two cars.

not gonna happen though.

No, we're just scared of them. 😛

In Korea, theres a very very very big deal about showing respect to elders and its very institutionalized. Hence, the patriarchial society and such.

I've always just sort of assumed that it would happen eventually. No signs of it happening yet, but we'll see.

As far as when, I sort of figured I'd be somewhere around 24 or 25.

Anytime during my 20's. Of course I'm halfway through my 20's and single right now. I have been engaged but I found out later just how lucky I was when that didn't work out. But that's another story. 😉

26. 🙁

Thought I'd never get married or find happiness, and that I'd kill myself before reaching 30.
I only have a few months for that last, but for the rest I'm still right.

I've always seen myself as a loner. That really messed up my last relationship too since I couldn't reconcile my view of my life with her view of her life.

Two years ago I would have said that I knew the girl I'm going to marry, now I would say that I will likely never get married. I've seen way too many relationships fail, and I don't think I could find a woman perfect enough that she'd be able to deal with my weirdness. Plus I don't believe in marriage - but I do believe in being with someone for the rest of your lives. It'd be nice, but then again, being free to learn and spend my time as I wish, for the rest of my life, would be nice too.

There's just too many variables, so basically it's "we'll see what happens".
