I have three 80mm fans and a Taisol CGK760 with ACII, and the chip is a stable 36C. But, it is currently underclocked to 1050MHz. It is summer though.

I put the system together and installed win98 and all the drivers (4-1, AMD AGP, USB Filter, DirectX). Next, one by one, i installed the pci cards (firewire, scsi, nic, audio) and everything was detected. So far absolutely no problems except a freeze during win98 setup. Immediately after my next reboot the computer halts at a blank prompt and the keyboard's dead. Then it wouldn't turn on at all. I reseated every card, checked every connection and got it to turn on, but again it halts at the same blank prompt before i can get to the cmos. I pull out all the pci cards and retry them in alot of combinations and i found seemingly random results. Since that first halt, all the pci cards have worked in all the pci slots but only in random arangements, audio and nic might boot fine together once, but not when i try it again later. And three cards or more at once almost never works. Does anyone know of any conflicts between these cards? Could the problem be the motherboard? I have PnP OS disabled, could this be an irq conflict? Thanks for your help.
