serious problem with windows XP, please help

i just did a clean format of windows XP pro (with SP1), however once in a while i get the following critical error:

windows must shut down, if you have and unsaved work please save now because all progress will be lost.

windows must shut down because remote protocol command (RPC) failed to initalize

then i get 60 seconds to save anything i can and then windows restarts. what is going on here???? TIA

You're being hit by a worm or virus that exploits the flaw detailed in Security Bulletin MS03-039.

Get some antivirus going, clean your system and run windows update.

install the patch, follow removal instructions on symantec's site. and get a firewall (I recommend zonealarm)
