Serious mouse issues

So i made the plunge for the Logitec G5 last month only to discover that it is a 110% a "palmers" mouse. I'm a "finger" mouse user and i simply could not use the G5 as i'm a ten year gamer and my mouse habits are solidly engrained. So i traded it straight across for a Razer Diamondback plasma edition which i found much more comfortable but it's still causing me serious problems. My ring finger likes to rest on the side of the mouse and i found myself pressing the far right button which ended up getting me killed on numerous occasions in BF2. So... I superglued the far right mouse button shut but now i find that when i'm playing CS:S the base of my right middle finger tends to rest heavily upon the second mouse button(tense when i play CS:S) causing me to change weapons at the crucial moment when i need to be unloading lead. My gaming has been seriously impaired for the past month and a half and i'm getting desperate. I really don't want to go back to an 800dpi wallmart/logitec but i will if i have to. I think i need a low profile mouse with short buttons.
Any suggestions?

Wow. Ever thought about using software to TURN OFF THE TWO BUTTONS ON THE RIGHT SIDE?

Yeah, good luck returning/selling the diamondmax.

DPI doesn't matter a whole lot. 1600 just sounds like a great number 😉 Give the Logitech MX310 a try.
