Serious help needed!!! Trace.log ??

I have a file C:/Windows/System32/LogFiles/WMI/trace that is growing exponentially. I cannot delete the file. I have Win XP Pro. It got to 26.8 Gb and I booted another HD up and deleted the file file of of this drive. When I rebooted this drive it starts to grow again. Help!!! What is it??
 
Thanks fellows for the assistance. n0cmonkey - great find. according to that forum thread the cause may have been from running bootvis.exe . The reg hack they listed worked. I spent all night last night in MS Knowledge base to fix a problem they created! Figures. Thanks again!
