I need your advice on a financial problem.

Are there any companies that can help find the problems in ones credit and which companies are looking for payment and then hopefully help the person resolve the issues?

My mom is like constantly getting calls from collectors not a lot I believe at the moment its only two companies. This all started about two years ago, she got behind on payments and then everything just started collecting so she went to a debt consolidation program. The calls stopped for about a year or so and then she got a court paper to pay up on one account which she did almost 5000$. So that went away but now all sudden two more are calling all the time and she just got a letter from one that she owns about 5000$ and to pay or they will take the matter further.

Meanwhile the company she used to debt consolidate seems horrible she keeps asking them for a statement to see where the money has been going and how much is left to pay etc and no response so she stopped paying them. I?m not sure who the company is but was recommend by some friend of hers at work which at the time I didn?t think was a good idea, she got it because it was a company that is run by Hispanic people, she only got it because she could communicated in Spanish with them, to me sound sketchy.

Personally I?m going to try to help her as much as I can but I think she needs help.

Cliff notes.
Mom in financial problem
Got debt consolidation with crappy company
Collectors coming at her
Need help to find who all collectors are and to come to some kind of settlement with all.

her last loan was a car lease which just ended with no late payments ever.
her credit is so bad that loan companies dont want to touch it that on the car she just got its own my name and i lease it for her.

Its so annoying, i'm trying to help her and call this companies and they won't talk to me, i have to send them a power of attorney letter to talk to them.

What the hell is that? can it be just a letter stating i give persmission to this person to talk on my behalf? does it have to be done through a lawyer or special method?

Have her get a credit report and look at what is owed.

Then get on the debt consolidation agency for an accounting of payments that she made to them and when/where they were disembursed.

After that, if she gets a call from anyone, get the mailing address and have her send a letter authorizing you to discuss the matter.

From your perspective, after you have examined the credit reports and the debt statement, then you can evaluate what is going on.

Anyone that trys to claim more $$, must then send documentation paperwork to you regarding the supposed debt.

language barrier, my mom speaks very chopped english. unless they have a spanish speaking person which then hurts me because i communicated better in english than spanish.

Also i'm constantly at work and she is at home sleeping (works at night) and weekend this places are closed.

go down to Staples or another office supply store, you can get a form called "General Durable Power of Attorney"

she'll have to sign it and it will name you power of attorney, and you'll have to get it notarized and send it to them

I did online bill payment support about 6 years ago. Whenever we had a problem with a payment and had to talk to a creditor we did a three way call with the customer and the creditor on the line at the same time. The customer would verify all their information and then give the creditor verbal authorization to speak with me about their account. Give it a shot.

I did request that they were like, you need to send power of attorney, very rude people..

Didn't read the complete OP just the cliff notes but it sounds like something the same thing I went through 2yrs. ago.
Apparently someone had stolen my cc# when I moved away from college, after a few yrs. started getting calls from a collection agency. Long story short, took over 9months to finally get it cleared.

1. Called the 3 credit bureau agency to do an investigation and maybe add a security alert (it's free for like 3months)
2. Talk to collection agency and see why there's a charge, credit card?
3. Talk to credit card company and see if there's any way to clear it. Only way to stop the collection agency from hounding you is for the bank to say it was not you.
4. File police report on id. theft. Usually the collection agency and cc co. won't do anything unless there's a police report.

The problem is it takes forever for the collection agency and cc co. to do their "investigation". It was a royal pita ... getting transferred from person to person, on hold for hrs.,

hope you get it resolved.

So this is my game plan at the moment.
Get credit report from all 3 agency's and review them
Call the Debt consolidation company that she used and ask for records
Get power of attorney paperwork
and start to call the companies i guess to find out whats up.
