Ok, i purchased an Antec 430w PSU from newegg and has been working for a couple of days. it wasn't till 2 or 3 days later that i have been having boot trouble. Like when i press the power button it would boot for like 2-3 seconds then immediately shutdown, i can't even get past the POST. Or it wont power on AT ALL! Its only when i pull the power cord from the back, wait about a few seconds then put it back in, it would go on. Can someone please help me? :( thx in advance.

I doubt that its the PSU. sounds like motherboard or HSF problems. If your fan isn;t running, it won;t post. Have you checked the PSU with a VOM when it IS running ?

Sounds very much like your CPU is overheating, check your Fan and Heatsink alignment. DO NOT
turn the computer on and off repeatedly, the cpu circuitry WILL crack, I killed my 1700+ like that.

Check your heatsink installation against the photos here. The A7V333 does have overheat protection and will shut itself off if the CPU is not getting effective thermal transfer to the heatsink.

Also, if you plugged the blue-&-black fan-monitoring wire from the TruePower430 into the motherboard, unplug it. It's not necessary, and the low RPM reading may make the A7V333 angry. And we wouldn't want that, would we :Q

Lastly, confirm that the 115V/230V slider on the rear of the PSU is set for the correct voltage for your region (United States = 115V).

BullsOnParade: Im almost POSTIVE that its not my cpu overheating, i've check that. I had an old 300w psu and it never behaved this way. But thanks for letting me know not to turn on/off repeately, i didn't know that.

Markfw900: excuse my n00bness but i don't know what a VOM is. but i am postive that the cpu fan is running. right now its running 4821 rpm, using a volcano 10+. And i also just recently bought it. About the mobo, that brings up a point i didn't make on my original post. And i hope its a psu defect. :( I got a little green light on my mobo that lights up when i have the power cord in, it is supose to be always on when the psu switch is on. But ever since i installed in the Antec 430w every once in awhile it would shut off... so this is where i have to pull the power cord out and put it back in for the green light to go back on. that is when i can turn on my comp. One last thing, there was a time when i moved the power cord wire with my hand, i was untangleing the clutter at the back of my comp, then when i moved the power cord (yes machine was still on) it shut down. Again, never had this problem with my other psu. I hope this is enough info for you guys, thx for any help!
