serial to USB device

Does anyone have a recommendation for a serial to USB converter?
I've read mixed reviews about how successful these devices are at functioning.

Specifically, I'm looking to console into Cisco devices from my laptop, which of course
only has USB ports.

Cost is obviously a factor, but I'm willing to pay for a device that actually works as advertised.

It appears newegg has 3-4 different versions of these, all for lower prices than USBGEAR.

Just type "USB DB9" into their search field.
