Serial to USB converter for Cisco console cable?

My work is having me purchase a new Laptop, but all the laptops I look at got rid of the serial port, is there a USB to serial adapter to still use a serial and how do you configure Hyperterm for that?

I just need to be able to still use a console cable for Cisco 2500, 2600 and 3600 routers.

I'd say: invest $20 in a USB serial adapter and see if it works. SVC.com has them for $15 + shipping. My USB serial adapter works fine with a serial port 56K modem.
