serial ports disappear in windowsME?

First you say they disappeared...then they won't work..which is it?
Do they show up in your device manager?
Are they enabled in the BIOS?
Do you have any conflicts in the device manager?
What are you using the serial ports for?
If you have your mouse in the PS2 mouse port, and you have an internal
modem...you might not need your serial ports.....
