good luck Kevin.

You're gonna be ok and you'll have a great time. Dont worry about the all male dorm, there will be plenty of ladies on campus

Wahahah! That's the equivalent of:

"Good luck in prison, man! Don't worry; you'll be able to see lots of ladies crossing the street, through the bars on the window!"

The hell with everyone else. I want an answer to my question! How is it that the OP is 14 years old and entering college?

If he's really 14, he'll be abused every single day. Period.
If he's not 14, I'll abuse him every single day for lying. Period.

Wow, apparently you've never heard of an exaggeration. How could you seriously think that he literally meant he was 11?

I thought even you were smarter than that, but, no! Our beloved MichaelD saw it as an opportunity to show how he was better at math than an 18 year old. Oh boy, you're the big man around town now!

People leave so soon for school. Some of my friends are leaving as early as tomorrow. As for myself, I still have another month before I have to move in for school (September 16th, University of Chicago).

If school started for you next week would you be leaving as early as tomorrow?

Probably, but for me, it doesn't. It's just saddening in a way to see everyone going their own separate ways after so many years together.

Enjoy not posting on these forums for the entire schoolyear! You will be back though, when you get your first internship and become a true NEFFER.

I was pretty excited to move into a dorm at McMaster...until I found out that my room was TINY, and about 40 degrees in the summer....and that one of my roommates was a TOTAL douche, while the other one was right cool. Actually, a lot of people in that residence were really cool, and I'm still friends with them a few years later...I might go back and be an RA next year, if I can.

Ok lol well i guess i have some explaining to do. Back when i was 11 i had a different account. I posted a couple posts and then (since we were on dial-up back then) i couldn't post more than once a week so i forgot about the account. Then in 03 when i had my own internet connection in my room and we had broadband was when i created this account.

As for my major. I am in the University Studies program for this year but my major is Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). Next year, assuming im in good standing, ill be able to transfer into the engineering program.

Thanks for any advice guys!

-Kevin

You'll move all your stuff into your Dorm. A dreaded feeling will come over you and you'll think, WTF am I doing here this is going to suck. Then you'll walk outside to see your family off, wishing you could go with them. As your family pulls away you'll suddenly notice the hoards of hot girls walking around, and you'll make friends with the dude standing next to you. That dreaded feeling will be washed away and you will be more excited then ever.

That was a perfect description.

exactly what I thought. apparently everybody speaks so literally these days that exaggerations are completely unheard of.

either way, I will be in the same boat... that is, I will be off to college September 17th, with first day of class September 20th. Heading to Ohio State (late start because of quarter system, and not semesters).

edit:
well he posted his reasoning for the 11 y/o comment... i was wrong about exaggeration, but it could have easily been that.

Is that supposed to be a burn or something? I'd say it doesn't make sense, but you'd just pretend it did and call me dumb, because that's your angle.

In any case, :cookie: for trolling me and this thread so efficiently, it was a blast.

Good day.

- So?

Ah, no. You're not playing by the rules, n00b. You can't take a burn and say "Oh, was that supposed to be a burn?" when you know darn well it was, and try and punt it back over the net. Cheater. You obviously have not read the IBB Rules Book (official version).

Jesus. Just shut up already.

To answer you guys question, classes start on Monday.

I have a pretty awesome schedule. Only one day do i have a class at 10AM. The rest of the days i have classes from ~12-5. But i have Fridays completely free. And yes, i made sure i left plenty of time to get from class to class. Hopefully that works out as good as it sounds like it will.
