I've got the remnants of a Biostar iDEQ 200N system (motherboard) which the PS/2 ports were accidentally broken during the removal from the chassis. Right now I'm using a USB keyboard and mouse, but linux distributions don't like it and refuse to detect them on the installation bootup.
I was wondering if I could get the serial port cable and connect my USB / PS/2 keyboard to it and use it that way. Would I be able to still access the BIOS with the keyboard connected to the serial port? Is there any other remedy to this problem?
