Serial IR Receiver with Vista x64 and Harmoney remote..

Is there any easy way to set this up? I tried WinLIRC with no success because it kept crashing. I also have silicon dust which is supposed to have a usb receiver attached, but from what i've read, there are no windows utilities to parse the incoming IR data. Any other suggestions? I want this to worky with my Harmony 670 remote and Vista Media Center. The IR receiver is from an old packard bell that I had, and connects through the serial port.

Sorry you won't be able to use the remote on your PC. If you want a remote you'll need one made fro the PC that comes with its own software and receiver. Here are some options. They aren't as nice as the Harmony but they will get the job done.

actually the harmony would work fine with visa mce (the harmony can be programmed so one of the devices is the stock mce remote) you just need a usb ir reciever (if you get the oem vista mce remote the reciever with that will work fine and you can keep that remote as a spare) (I have been using my 880 on a vista system for a few years (windows media center before that))
