i have a male end on the serial cable, however no female serial anywhere to be found!

what do i need to do to hook it up? would a genter adapter work?
 
Never heard of a serial connection for an LCD monitor. They usually are digital video connectors, or alternatively, analog VGA connectors. What brand and model are you talking about?

its like 2 lines each line supporting 16 characters
