Serial cable - Direct Cable Connection

I have had this serial cable for a while, i just got an old p100 laptop, i have tried for hours to get the thing to connect to my pc, anyone done this b4 or know how to do it, i can set up the direct connection prog no problem, i think it has something to do with bios settings, but i'm not quite sure, Thanks

No-go if it's a standard cable - has got to be a laplink type crossover cable.

can i do that, i mean is it hard, which pins do i swap?
