Serial ATA working with IDE?

Can anyone tell me if you can use a serial ATA HD at the same time as a IDE HD? My MB is a Gigabyte P4 Titan 865PE. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
 
Do you mean onboard SATA and onboard IDE? If so, check your mobo manual.
As for SATA on a controller card and onboard IDE, I have that running right now. It works beautifully.
 
Yeah, onboard serial. I've looking in the manuel and there is no mention of using the two different ports at the same time. I have also talked to the company but I can't make out what their rep is trying to say. He has a very thick accent and I'm just so lost.
