Serial ATA vs. Serial ATA 150

What is the difference between SATA and SATA 150? Are they the same?

Pretty much

150 is just the transfer rate.

SATA = SATA 150 (ie, they are the same).
SATA II = SATA 300 (ie, they are the same).
