Im not very computer savy. Can someone clue me in on what they mean by serial ata/raid. I want to know what I am getting in a bundle or missing out if I don't decide to get that option.

Serial ata (SATA) is another type of connection for hdd's. It is a smaller, quicker (in terms of connecting/disconnecting), and faster connection type to transfer data. The main reason SATA is popular is that it supports the WD Raptor drives which are 10,000 rpm without having to deal with SCSI. Also, almost all new decent mobo's have extra support for SATA so you have more PATA (regular ata) connections open for you optical drives.
Raid is the same for SATA as it is for PATA. It's just a method of creating faster data management (RAID 0) or a backup of your data (RAID 1).
