I think most people were pleasantly surprised about the new reboot so hopefully this keeps it going.

Yes! An Abrams sequel. That guy is really breathing in new life into the Star Trek universe. I like the new kirk and spock as well. oh, and lahura, I never liked her before but she's kind of hot in the abrams movie.

Untrue. I think you will find that many people did not pay to see the film in the theater. After seeing it on my laptop I decided that the first 5 minutes would have been worth paying to see ... and no more. I would have paid $0.27 to see it in the theater.

Don't hold your breath. The last film was so un-ST like that it didn't feel like ST at all.

Good. If I wanted old star trek feel I would watch old star trek. I find the reboot refreshing.

i thought it was a decent action movie with some star trek bits in it. i saw it once, but don't really care to see it again.

Exactly. We dont need the exact same thing over and over again. Thats what the series are for.

If you're gonna remake it, RE MAKE IT!

If you dont like the new changes, fine. Watch the old ones. They're on blu-ray now, and they have all the extended scenes, like the spunky kid mouthing off to Admiral Kirk.

the title sounds kind of lame, but a grittier star trek is nevertheless welcome.

I never watched Star Trek prior to the last movie, but it's probably in my top 5 favorite movies ever.. Can't wait for the sequel.

You mean you didn't find her hot with blue skin and cat-like features?

I was one of the pleasantly surprised. It took the "story" and made it something slightly different. What a true reboot should be, not the same rehashing of the exact same storylines over and over. Hell, even many of the fanatics liked it.

As for the sequel being a flop..well...not all the original Star Trek movies were exactly gold.

Wow they actually test out movie names? Seems like too much thinking to me.

well, when you're spending over 100 million dollars on a product, I doubt they leave anything to chance. A bad title can kill the BO of a good movie.

Star Trek sucked for a long time until Abrams rebooted it. I hope the next movie is a huge success.

1. star trek wasn't very good, and it died way before 2009.

2. the 2009 movie and it's relations are not star trek. i would have enjoyed it more if it were called something else. i would have enjoyed most if it was a faithful star trek show that didn't suck

Explain why it wasn't "star trek"?
