I've gotta say, I'm really surprised Blurredvision's pic (submission #2), the one with the fire, didn't get waaay more votes. I thought it was the best pic up there.

Thank you, I was definitely proud of that one.

EDIT: I took that one while camping at Cave Run Lake a couple weekends ago. One of the guys that was with us laughed at me while I laid on the ground about 4 feet from the fire :).

I had fun in my first contest. Congrats to the winners and all of the entrants. There were allot of great photos. My two submissions were from a trip to Mesa Verde national park.

My first was from Cottesloe Beach, second was a random army chopper flying over Kings Park, at the stage when I had given up on finding an entry ;)

I took 100 or so pictures of the train and the equipment that the RR was using to right it and that one seemed to tell the story the best. I was lucky I saw the morning news that day and it was only about 15 miles from my house. My entry in the lines of nature was taken at Morro Rock in Morro Bay California and to me it looked a bit alpine even though the water in the foreground is in the outfall from a power plant into the Pacific Ocean.

I still haven't gotten over being self-conscious about the funny looks. I think that and a general lazy-ness are my biggest hurdles.
