George Bush. A man of his word.

Sept. 11 panel still seeking access to key documents

"The leaders of the independent commission investigating the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks complained again yesterday that they still have not received all the sensitive documents they need from the Bush administration to properly do their job.

Despite "substantial progress," Thomas Kean, the chairman of the commission, and Lee Hamilton, the vice chairman, said they are "continuing to press for necessary access to some key items."

[...]

"The Bush administration initially opposed creation of the commission last year, but it finally agreed after pressure from lawmakers and family members of the victims of 9/11. The attacks killed nearly 3,000 people in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.

Stephen Push, whose wife was killed when a terrorist-hijacked airliner struck the Pentagon, said he was "very disappointed the CIA, the White House and the Defense Department are still not producing some key documents."

"What do they have to hide?" he asked.

Well, now that you've made your obligatory moronic comment please explain to me why the Bush administration after being opposed to the 9/11 inquiry and being forced by the families of the people who died that day to acquiesce now is still refusing after many months to give the commission the information they requested.

What do they have to hide? A question from a man who lost his wife in the attack on the Penatgon.

But an asshole like you belittles his legitimate question while you ignore the fact that the Bush adminsitration didn't want this commission and is now still refusing to turn over documents legally requested by the 9/11 commission.

More right wing conservative hypocrisy.

Well moron, I would have a hard time explaining something to you which I'm not privy to, now wouldn't I? I already stated the answer that you truly believe, yet you call it moronic? Dude, it was a reflection of you, be a little easier on yourself the next time. LOL

Well genius, if you're not privy to the info why not base your conclusions on the info that is available.

The Bush administration fought against the 9/11 inquiry and was finally forced to capitulate when families of the 9/11 victims went to Washington and threatened to go public with their plight. Bush made a point of telling everyone he was then agreeing to creation of the 9/11 commission as though it was his idea to begin with!

Bush then promised full cooperation with the 9/11 commission. As soon as the commission started their work their requests for documents from the Bush administration were denied. Tom Kean who heads the commission went public and complained about the lack of cooperation from the Bush administration. The Bush administration is now refusing to turn over key documents the commission requested.

Now, the commission is charged for a specific amount of time. The Bush administration after being forced to accept the commission and promising cooperation is refusing to cooperate hoping to wait out the commission until their time is up.

What are they hiding?
