Yo guys, I'm gonna branch out from from other thread to ge a faster response..

well, i finally got xp reinstalled. I had my drive (a wd 250 gig) partitioned in two parts 75/154 gig. My old xp install was on the 74 gig partition, and a transfered all the files i wanted to save to the second partition. Well, to reinstall xp, I formatted the first partion with ntfs, and continued with the install. Upon reboot, after the dos install, it said chkdsk should be run to scan for errors.

From here, windows found a ton of "orphaned" files, and put them in a directory on the second partition (i'm not sure if this has any bearing on my saved files or not). Now though, I can't access the stuff i saved on my second partition? It says I don't have access to these folders. I hope to god that's a fix to this, because all of my work, music, and movies are on there. Someone help if you can.

Thanks

You should stick to one thread:). Take ownership on the partition and you should have access to your files.
