Seperate the LCD screen from the Notebook

Is this possible? ARe you able to expand the wires and connectors of a laptop, to the LCD screen.

Like if you hang it the LCD on the wall, and have the main section of the notebook on the desk. It seems like it could be doable. Anyway know?
