Hey everyone

I have an old ATI Rage II TV Tuner/Video Card (PCI). I was wondering if it was possible to run a separate AGP video card, disable the PCI video card, and still use just the TV Tuner aspect of the combo. Is that possible, and if so, how do I do it? By the way, the new AGP card will most likely be an ATI card, also running WIN98.

I hope someone can help...

You have just stated the main reason why you should NOT get an all in one card solution.
For most, chances are that a tuner A/V input card will last years before needing upgrading.
A good TV out solution will also last years before needing updating.
But, video cards must be replaced often if you wish to keep up.
Also, usually a card dedicated to one purpose will do that purpose better than a card with an addon feature.

For the most economical way to go, get seperate cards.
It may cost you a lttle more today, but the savings will be GREAT in the long run.
All future video cards will not need addon's, so you won't have to pay a premium for TV/Video or TV out.

I use an Avermedia TV '98. Cost about $25 two years ago.
For TV out, using an external scan convertor, TView Gold 1600x1200@120hz, $100 two years ago.
Have upgraded video card 3 times in the past two years.
Tuner/AV and TV out are still going strong with GF3 and WinME/XP, and can see no upgrade need with these for a while still.

With your ATI card, I doubt that you will be able to use the cards advanced features if you move it
to being a secondary card, and install a new AGP card as primary card. But, give it a try. If it doesn't
work, sell the old PCI card, and use the money to buy a seperate PCI TV/Tuner/AV card.
