Lately I've noticed that there are increasing numbers of non-tech deals in the "Hot Deals" forum. Since this is a tech site, I come here looking for tech deals primarily and not deals on condoms, Land-O-Lakes butter, bras, cutlery sets and the like. I think it would make sense to have a "Hot Deals" forum for tech/tech-related only and then another one for everything else so we don't have to wade through all the other stuff when we are really looking for tech deals. Anyone else think this makes sense?

I don't since even technical people need to eat, buy clothing, have checking accounts, buy housewares, etc. I've been able to take advantage of many non-technical deals over the years and appreciate the opportunity to do so.

Maybe you didn't notice that I said nothing about disallowing these types of deals just to move them to a different forum. This is a TECH site after all...

Who doesn't like looking at bra deals??? (If it's Victoria's Secret) *grin*

Seriously though, maybe a better idea would be to have tags people could add to the posts that would indicate if it's technology, a coupon, clothing, food, etc. And then be able to sort or filter out by tag.
